Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Eastern Creek Muscle Car Masters

    Hi All,
Went to the Eastern Creek Muscle Car Masters Fathers' Day event on Sunday.
Was a GREAT day. Plenty of beautiful machines. Unfortunately no VW's - the closest to the family was classic 911's.
Really enjoyed seeing the minis chasing round the Mustangs - gave them a good run for their money!

I know these aren't pics of my ride, so apologies if I've posted in the wrong section.

    Enjoy!

The R - showing off its good looks!

Was out there myself on Sunday, took dad out for fathers day.

Didn't that Lotus Cortina have some go, gave the mustang a hard time. That white Fairlane 500 with the red stripes is driven by a 17yo girl! The 911's sounded great going up the hill behind corporate hill.

Should point out, one of the medic cars was a White Golf R. Didn't make an appearance on the track though.

Some great pictures there. Brings back memories when these cars were the normal racers and the "old" cars were from the 40's and 50's.

The days when the cars on the track had much in common with the cars we drove on the roads unlike V8 supercars that only have a body shell in common with road cars.

...and you actually had the opportunity to drive them hard!

Go the Starion, used to have one of those!

Unfortunately, my friend, Mal Rutshack, in the #46 Nb Mini no longer has posession of his car or trailer, as it was stolen on the way back to Adelaide fromt the back of his F250.

Unbolted the 70mm towball from the Effie and took the complete trailer.

30 foot, tri-axle, enclosed trailer, race car, tools, spares, the lot.

Cheers guys, glad you liked the photos.
Didn't see the medic car - bet it looked good.
                    The cortina was a rocket!

So sorry to hear about your mate's Mini & trailer, can't believe someone would do that. Such a shame.
                    Hope it's found.

Great photos mate! That's bad news about the mini being stolen though. I'm sure I've seen that Starion being trailerd around before, from memory it is a nicely done car.
