Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Also, the standard question: What did you use to blacken the trims?

As to the name, if the colour is actually Helios Blue, I reckon Helios sounds good!

Helios - (Greek mythology) ancient god of the sun; drove his chariot across the sky each day; identified with Roman Sol.
interior is now pretty perfect!! i got the seats re-upholstered (soooo comfy).. ill try to take some more pics soon.
for the bumpers i used 'Mothers naturally black', just got it from repco for i think about $15... seems to last a while

as for the name helios, ill sit on for a while
i do like the sound of the car being a Titan!!

Yep! I had a 306 a while ago and was in discussion with Magic about doing some head/cam work etc etc.. never really eventuated. I'd still desperately love a 205GTi with a 10J4RS transplant from a GTi6.

Anyway, this is just getting off topic...!

            This Mk2 is fantastic.

Well, Stiggy's put a lot of work into the car as well, so he deserves a lot of credit, too, I reckon

it took me about 2 years to find it.. they are around, just hard to find.

when i got the car, it was unregistered and unroadworthy, there was a fair bit of work to do. it was fun pulling half the car apart and putting it back together
