hi there...
did he finally get the engine transfer done at the rta... i was looking at that car only one week before the nationals...my mechanic had a look, was pretty good for a mk1.....drives strong... the drivers seat was broken, not a big deal at all.... i did notice that it had taken a big shunt under the car..rail bent pretty bad but fixable....... we shook on a price...drove all the way back to my place in Bondi (from padstow)....was writing out the receipt when i asked the ? have the engine numbers been changed at the rta... answer NO.......
all in all a damm good MK1.... once you put a bit of tender loving care in her she be a great ride (pardon the pun)...hehe........ i look forward to seeing more pics when she's had her "makeover"....

very nice mk1 mate.. tidy engine bay, clean paint, nice wheels.. two thumbs up!
if you want a bit more get-up-and-go, let the 1.8 breathe with bigger carby or injection (k-jet etc.)... if you dont want to go injection, i love the sound and feel of the sidedraft dellortos and webers (a bit heavier on the wallet though)...
have a good one..
mikeTDI mk1 on the road!!

some plans, in case anyone was wondering..
haha, after recent information has come to light ill more than likely be hanging onto the engine - though i was previously contemplating a 2E motor and running it on carbs.
next thing to source will be some twin 40mm delortos and manifold or something of that nature and well see how we go from there.
the paint scheme is going to be flat black, and hopefully ill score some ATS cups at a later date.
some coilover suspension will also be on the cards, and ill probably remove the rear seat (as i dont take up 4 seats myself and dont have a bunch of kids to cart round) and might head to driftbitz at burleigh n grab a pair of regular adjustible racing seats.
itd be mad sweet if any people with knowledge of a good carb setup or coilovers or ats cups for sale could give me a hoy-hoy n stuff.
that just about sums it up. i wouldnt mind doin one of them single wiper conversions, and pickin up some crosshair headlights. still unsure whether to stick with the grill or go the single headlights.
um. yeh.
enough writing.
have a good day everybody lol, pze

Sounds like it'll be a good project to follow...Originally posted by WhubbsieThere is nothing better than a polo badge, thats why you will notice Veyron drivers with polo gti badges.... they know where the true sizzles at!
