Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Thanks for the good comments guys. Depending on how sketchy I'm feeling, I might go and drill the arches off tonight to get ready for rolling

whats good about them bro? they're okay in the dry, but so are most tyres.

cheap, lots of wierd sizes, and there's nothing wrong with them in the wet. (they aren't the best wet tyres, but i've had worse)

I'm actually really happy with mine, good price, size I wanted (maybe not an issue with 16's) and I havn't understeered into a tree...

Yes, they do understeer, but pretty much all tyres do. I find them very progressive in thier feel and grip & feel 100% safe on them ( i know how they're react to certain inputs) (I've never had catastrophic understeer with them, at all!)

I reckon they have a nice profile for stretching. my 185/45's on doms old 8" RS's looked horn! (imo anyways )

I just dont like how 'everyone' always bad mouths ns2's when they havn't tried em, thats all.

Ahh ok. Well I actually tried Ray's ones for about a week once. They were okay in the dry but they felt willing to let go and in the wet there was little hope, so that's why I haven't gone back to them.

Oh, that and the tyres I'm looking at aren't exactly expensive at ~$120 a tyre with balancing and fitment!

                            Anyways, work in progress?

It didn't inflate on its own cos the tyre doesn't hit the beads. is the deodorant trick actually safe enough to do?

Hahah well that's a bit of a problem!

I'm just a bit worried about spraying like brake cleaner into the tyre insides and lighting it...
