How'd the rear spoiler turn out?? Need a motor and 5sp now to finish it off!!
Cheers!
The spoiler has turned out pretty nice thanks Andrew.
I was thinking of a 5 speed gti box. Next on my list lol. Dont know about a new motor. My little 1.6l performes very well. Only done 35,000 - 40,000 clicks since it rebuild. Not sure if i should get a new motor or not. maybe a new camshaft if there is one available for the 1.6. Maybe a 1.6 GTi one???

yeh, the 1.6 is still a good little engine.. i believe that a 1800 cam should fit just nice on the 1600, so if u want a gti speck one it should bolt straight on

yea still grinning lol. getting a balance and alignment next week.
Would a 1800 gti cam bolt straight in? has anyone done it?
it should, an 1800 isnt any bigger, just the bore's i believe... it should be fine...
otherwise if all else fails get your stock cam ground to whatever spec u wish for around $150-$200

i dont think hydrolic lifters effect the camshaft, im learning more everyday and i'll learn even more when i build my own 1600 up

My golf is lowered with king springs. On full steering lock it wont rub. But the only time it does rub is at the back wheel arches. Thanks to stuffed shockies . Thats only if i go fast over bumps in the road. More so with a load in the back. Its actually rubbing against the flares. If u roll your arches it wont happen ( or have good shocks )
