Thanks for the positive comments guys

Auto unfortunately, haven't had the chance to learn manual yet
Next time I go out I'll have the pleasure of having to fill her up for the first time - yay money!!

On a kind of related topic of money, Lorenz I have a desire to lower it but not sure what to do.
I'm not keen on the impracticalities of slamming it (doubt i'd be allowed to anyway) but I'm having good visions of what it would look like. Airbags would in theory be an ideal solution here, but I don't know if I'll be able to come to terms with myself haha
The other option is just to drop it an inch or so to give it a slightly better stance but then a similar problem arises - if im only dropping it a fraction would buying new springs be worth it at all or for what its worth am i just better off getting the current ones cut a bit???

never EVER cut your springs. very bad idea in everyone's opinion on here lol. it's way too dodgy a job and you should only do that on corolla's, bro.

Your suspension choice depends totally on what your goals are. Obviously the first question is if you're looking for just looks or improved handling. Second question is how low do you want it to go, and do you want to be able to possibly adjust the height (or maybe even the stiffness of the suspension?). Third question is what are you prepared to spend lol. When you can answer those three questions definitely, post them up and I'm sure you'll get a flood of responses with good choices

                      1) Primarily for looks, handling would be a good bonus
                      2) As I said not sure. If I turn it into a lawnmower it must be able to come back again (i.e. bags), which is probably my preference, but an inch or two would do me happy as well.
                      3) Not much because I've just had a massive blow from the car itself - had a quick look at bags and they seem to go from 2000+, which is too much atm. I spose i could always wait a while. Are there any not-too-bad springs you can get for cheaper?

Not to try and get you over-excited, but I bought my setup from a member here (rayray086) and I got a seriously fantastic deal (<$500). I'm currently sitting on eibach springs and koni shocks; and there's these ''coilover sleeves'' that are matched to my springs that allow me to adjust my ride height.

If you're keen on lowering the car now, just keep looking out on places like the forsale section here, maybe throw a thread into the wanted section, check ebay, check overseas sites etc. I would think that bags would be a huge job (maybe one to tackle later on down the track?) and if you're still happy with a practical ride height then you should just go springs and struts or coilovers.
