Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Haha nice, mines half finished and sitting on the grass in the backyard atm

MK3's look so much cleaner with the rear wings removed, as does yours.

Shes going back up abit again, just bring the back up to match so I can save the bottom until I get a skid plate and some covers over the exhaust, seems to scrape quite a bit.

Plans to pull the BBS off, got another set temporarily to roll around on while I pull the 001s apart and refurb them, plus fix a few more things (swaybar links, wheel bearings, control arm bushes, exhaust, roll the fenders, etc etc). Wanna have a good look at the steering and make sure its all ok, almost feels like something isnt quite right still. Also time to sort out some hoses, clean the engine bay (never done it!) make a heat shield of some sort for the podfilter and some ducting underneath.

Heading out to a few hill climbs and track days in a few months so want to get it all rock solid before then and nicely setup.

Anyone have any ideas where to bolt a 3 point harness too? Was thinking of making up a rear strut brace and with the back seats out could be a good point for the back belts to bolt to?

looks good though to get away with the small rims u need to be loooow, the rear is fine though the front has to come down an inch once you've got the skids on!

That's down at Port Adelaide near the main bridge, awsome location, took ages to get a decent shot with the poor lighting!

                            Couple of new pics!

Car broke down on me the other morning on the way to work

Dissy shat itself pretty much. Was literally 2 minutes from home and had to get a damn tow truck

Got her home and started pulling bits apart, waiting till the shops re open on Tuesday so I can get some parts to fix the bitch. Swapped over my lights as I have sold the VR6 tails and waiting on new ones to arrive. Stock ones went in

But look kinda ghey and boring so decided to add a little touch of black night shade, why not!!

                            Much better!

Found some 8mm spacers I want to wack on the rears, will bring the wheels to the guards so Im going to have a go at that today Fronts need rolling badly with the 14s and massive tyres on there, they scrub the lip on the guard when hard cornering and have already damaged the front left and chipped the paint off, luckily that guard already needs painting!
