Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Broken exhaust gas temperature sender

Backed up over a stick while off roading and broke the exhaust gas temperature sender (item 6 in this diagram: exhaust gas temperature sender Transporter (TR) 2015 year Volkswagen EUROPA 906015).

Flashing coil light, then solid engine management light. Drove it 500 k's home no worries but my DPF light is on (solid) now too.

Where's the best place to get VW parts? 4motion has a slightly different part number (extra 'Q' on the end), would I be able to use the sensor off a non-4motion?

Any opinions on how risky it is to keep driving until I source a part?
