VW Wheel and Tyre Packages - Multivan, Transporter, Caravelle
Exactly! I thought it was well worth sharing that VW has actually listened to their dealers and customers for once and priced the wheel packages at a reasonable price.
They're probably a little more than aftermarket wheels but not by much and they're likely better quality than a lot of the knock-off stuff you can get online.
Still overpriced in my opinion Koya make correct load rated wheels for half the price of the VW ones with exception of the Corvara series , I wish they had the colour option when we bought ours Search Results | Koya Wheels I also noticed the disclaimer at the botom of the page saying they were overseas models for display purpose only .
The Koya wheels have 17and 18 and are all around the $260 mark with 20 inch coming in at $360 so for those biggies it is still better than VW as they only go to 18 's .
I guess it comes down to personal preference in the end. I like keeping my cars looking OEM but still a bit different to every other one out there. Also it's something that you could definitely sell with the car whereas Koyas could put some buyers off.
These are reasonably good value for OEM wheels. I think the tyres you can probably do better if you shop around and get them on 4 for 3 as the tyre prices look close to retail. But it does include wheel alignment and some cleaning products which is probably $100 worth or so.
I have a diifferent attitude when it comes to styling in cars , this come from a background of working with styling interiors and exteriors in the car industry for now 50 years continuously . Why should OEM be the standard you are just allowing manufacturers to dictate what they will sell you , I like the idea of individualism gives a vehicle it's own identitiy and helps it stand out as "different " from the norm . If you need an example of car makers losing sight of individual styling in cars look no further than BMW , our local large BM dealer keep their cars on the forecourt for visual display . Well it has to be the most boring line up of colours ever . Black followed by more black and then even more black oh wait there are one or two white ones and an occasional silver grey . Wheels are a personal choice so I took the Koya as it suited what I wanted for our van .
