Love the colour of your van , wheels do look the part how is the ride ? . I am always concerned once you go past a certain size rim that the smaller profile tyres will give a harsher ride [admits here had a bad experience with some lo profile tyres on my work van some years ago] .

The ride is actually a lot better than before and my old wheels had commercial tyres on. Less road noise and very smooth.2011 T5 Mulitivan Comfortline 103kw ,2009 Golf Tdi Comfortline 103kw,2005 Golf Mk5 GTI Stage 1 220BHP (UK),2004 Golf GT TDI 140BHP (UK),1995 Golf Mk3 GTI 120BHP (UK), 1980 Escort Mk2 RS2000(South African), 1980 Opel GTE 148Kw (South African), 1979 Golf Mk1.

Hi all, new T6 owner here, though 9 year member, from Tiguan 5N section
Here's a pic of some Amarok 18's on my MY18 Crewvan:
I have Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres in 255/45/R18 103Y profile & the ride is great! A lot quieter too. Speedo is exactly the same as stock - reading about 5% over. My main concern was that the rims are only 7.5 wide - would have preferred them to be 8 wide, but was assured by 3 tyre shops that it would be fine. I bought these used with a few superficial scuff marks for $400 + another $1200 for the rubber.
Happy motoring! MattCurrent: MY18 TRANSPORTER CrewVan, Indium Grey

The ride on 18" can indeed be very good as you can buy much better tyres in 18" size. I ran Michelin Pilot Sport 4, 255/45r18, they are great.
Handling on 18"s also improves, as they are 8" wide (factory), whereas the factory 17"s are 7" wide and makes the van lean too much.
Note that the width of 255/45r18 tyre is almost identical to the width of 235/55r17 tyre as the tyre markings are nominal, they do not represent the actual dimentions.
About Amarok wheels, while they are more available, their Offset is different to the Van's factory 18" Offset, so I prefer the feel of the Van's factory 18".Last edited by Tig-uan; 27-06-2019, 10:00 AM.Multivan MY12 TSI350 Red. Previous: 2008 Tiguan 103Tdi. 2010 Tiguan 125TSi.

Heyasam, i have got 225/65 R17 BFG KO2 spare under my van, it just fits, if i recall its was about 35mm overall larger than my stock 215/60R17
you should be able to see what size 18 inch tire will fit from that info, by looking at the 18 inch diameter sizing options2017 VW T6 3200KG GVM LWB 132kW 7 Speed DSG (Campervan Conversion)

Yes larger wheels can be a pain in the spare wheel carrier , I used to actually jack ours up into the recess with the lifting arm . Once you can start the bolt just keep winding until your happy , but watch out when you have to change the spare as it will let go with great gusto !!
