  • Help with reverse camera mounting

    Hi
I just purchased this reverse camera from a guy off ebay, it works and came with the cables and my radio was coded for it to work. The camera came mounted inside a rear door handle, I took the camera out of the door handle housing, now I am stumped on how I am going to mount this on the rear of my Duel cab.
Does anyone have any suggestions?Click image for larger version

I fitted rear camera into a mates Hi Lux dual cab tray back , all I did was get a alloy strip 2 mm thick 25mm wide drilled large hole for the camera to mount into and then bolted the bracket to the underside of the tray . He was wrapped as he can now back right up to the tow ball with confidence , it gave a great view from above looking back over the bar . Now is there some sort of locking ring that held it into the handle you may be able to utilise that for fitting into the alloy , once mounted you can bend the alloy to get the desired coverage .

You could hot melt but if it were me I would use either some Silone sealant or polyurethane which is the stuff used to bond windscreens into cars it is pretty tough stuff . Hot melt can get soft in the heat plus when it contacts cold metal it doesn't hold too well .

That sounds like a good idea Sunny. I will do this when I get back from holidays, and let you know how I went.

          Merry xmas
