  • Transporter T5 LWB 4motion - R32 engine conversion

I have a 2005 Transporter T5 LWB 4motion that is in need of a new engine
Has anyone got any info or experience on replacing the AXE 128kw Diesel with an engine out of an R32 Golf?

Might be easier to buy a V6 wreck, and swap all that into it.

Manual trans will be tricky to find. You'd have to import one. The auto that's on the V6 is the same junk they fitted to the diesels.

My van is a manual & I prefer to keep as manual, Do you mean a V6 Van wreck?
I have access to a complete V6 engine.

We never got them here as a V6 manual. They were all the rubbuish auto.

I think there's quite a few differences between the R32 V6, and the one in the T5. Similar, but I don't think they're easily interchangable.

NFI how easy the conversion would be, but do keep us updated if you go ahead with this!
