Transporter 2008. 170000 kms. Should i buy?

Hi all
I'd love to buy a transporter but need your input. Have found a 2008 SWB turbo duesel 170000kms transporter for $18500.
But i have no idea if it's reasonable.. and if there are any big expenses around that distance?
I want to use it for a big roadtrip around Australia.
Can you all help me decide??

What engine?

it's 2 wheel drive and turbo diesel.. Just waiting for him to get back with more info about engine, he's overseas atm.

Seems a little expensive for the year and 2WD. Just keep in mind the same 180k service will cost you + $2000.

Just be careful its not a scam

Lots of those ads where the owner is 'Overseas", On an oil rig or in the army will then require a deposit which along with the vehicle you will never see again. Dont hand over ANY money till you have seen the vehicle and its genuine ownership papers and do a REVS search before parting with the cash

edit - they only value my 2012 van @ between 12 and 17k, so it sounds a bit pricey.
Mine has done a 100k more though..........still......

As above watch out for scam , I could have sold you our 2004 T5 auto 2.5 turbo for $8500 which is what I dropped it for last month , one owner 155000 kays . Only issue was an niggly occasional limp mode , other than that it was "Fully Loaded "as they say in the US soundproofed custom interior fit out etc. Good luck with your purchase lets us know when you complete the deal .
