  • T5 Bullbar mounting help

    Hi All

Hoping someone may have some experience with the ex-ambo bullbar pictured below. I picked up the bullbar second hand with the mounting brackets but i'm a bit stumped as to how the brackets fit together and how / where they mount to the van.

Any guidance and/or pics would be much appreciated.

    Cheers
    Marc

    Hi Marc,
holes have to be drilled in the black sub frame, this is where the 90 degree angle bolts on.The second bracket bolts onto this one from above. If you pull the inserts/covers off the front of your bumper you will see star headed screws. The bracket is held in place from above by these.Sorry thats the best I can do from memory.PM me your phone number and I could send you a photo of holes, can't post pictures here....Bullbar removed and for sale if anyone interested. Thanks Stevan.

Anyone else who sees this, we still need help. If anyone lives in Musswellbrook or Gilgandra, I know both had ambulances with this bullbar. Not sure if they are still in the fleet but would be very appreciative of someone visiting the station to take some pics.

      Cheers
      Marc

Maybe you could stage a false heart attack and get then to come to you .

No heart attack, so that's positive. I did speak with the guys at Frontline campers who have dealt with those bars previously. They confimed that you need to drill through the subframe. One hole already exists but you need to drill the top hole for the bolt and the other you need to drill out top and bottom. He thought the holes were 13mm.

The second bracket then dog legs back towards the centre of the car to provide torsional stiffness. Haven't been home before dark this week so ill have a crack on the weekend.

If i get it sorted ill upload some photos.

That's the same arrangement as was used in the T4's...and the holes were 13mm too.

Have braved the rain but still no closer to understanding how the smaller brackets attach to either the bar or van!

drilled the topside 13mm hole of the existing bottom holes, bolted the bar in loosely to have a guide for the second pair of holes and secured the main brackets in place with the bullbar attached. Spent another 30mins trying to figure out how the two smaller brackets attach but none of us could figure it out. Currently attached without them. Will continue to investigate.
