  • Swivel first row seats for T6 Multivan with electrically adjustable seats

I have a T6 Multivan on order that has the 12-way electrically adjustable driver and passenger seats.

I want to have swivel seats installed in the front but am told by the dealer that it's not an option available on Australian models.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of how I can get them fitted.

My preference would be to use genuine parts and have someone else fit them, but worst case scenario, I could probably fit them if the job is easy enough.

First thing would be any seat that needs to swivel would probably be higher than a standard one , secondly if there were a part from factory option I would imagine you would need to sell a family member for medical research to pay for it as it would be hellishly expensive . Those electric seats weigh half a ton to start with so the loads for mounting would be enormous .Have you checked any over seas VW companies as I would imagine the UK would be a starting point . Also worth a mention if the T6 seat mounts are different from the T5 then supply would be dependant on how many people are willing to wait and pay the development costs .Good luck with the search .Just found this one might help Double Seat Swivel Base VW T5 RHD 2003 on - VWT5, FCS47, - :: Just Kampers Australia This one from the UK Sportscraft VW T5 Seat Swivel – Motorhomespares One last thing from some reading on UK forums the handbrake may need to be relocated as well some custom brackets seem to be available .

Thanks for the feedback and research Sunny43.5.
Point taken about the cost of genuine VW parts.
I had come across the Justcampers site in my searching but was worried that it couldn't be used with the electric seats. The English website was more useful because it has a feedback section and they told me that the wiring loom can be put through the centre of the swivel.
I might wait to see how much headroom I actually have in the Multivan before I order the swivels. Hopefully there'll be enough space to play with. I'm only average height so I reckon there will be.

I priced the genuine vw parts and you were right Sunny43.5, they were hellishly expensive. $4000 per side (not including fitting).
I came across this Queensland Company Seat Turntables / Swivels Online who say that their swivels meet the Australian Design Rules. I'm all for getting things fitted properly, so having something that meets the ADRs appeals to me.
Has anyone on this forum had dealings with Transport Seating or their products that can give me some feedback.
