  • Stereo options for a 2015 Transporter?

Hi everyone, ive read the sticky but it doesnt cover aftermarket options like I am after.

I want to put in a single DIN unit (replacing the stock single) that integrates with the bluetooth handsfree and buttons on windscreen wiper, can play music and recieve calls from my phone and has a usb/aux input.
My car doesnt have steering wheel controls, only wiper blade ones.

Are there any that fit and plug straight in?

What am I up against here?

I dont care about colour touch screens, just want to be able to play my own music.

    THanks!

If you are staying with single din I would check out what pioneer and other majors have available you may need a can bus decoder with an aftermarket unit .I run double din units I got from China as they have all the functions that VW top of range don't have and are cheaper plus they come with can bus decoder so no coding is required . .

Ok thats what ive been reading, is this to allow the bluetooth toggle buttons to integrate?

Also, does the car itself have bluetooth or is the stock radio the thing that has it? In other words when i get a new unit with bluetooth, will it be competing with the cars bluetooth?

From research VW fit a separate Bluetooth module for the factory installed units , so you would need to see if an aftermarket one can interface with the VW one . Most aftermarket radio units like ours for instance have the Bluetooth built into the head unit , it allows music via bluetooth and phone use as well , but also ours is an Android system which has dedicated music streaming App which connects instantly to the mobile device again by Bluetooth . We can also connect various other devices for playback via dedicated rear connectors . The Chinese ones we have do connect seamlessly to the factory steering wheel controls not sure about the on stalk ones like you have though .
