Probably not the place for it, but I am (with a mate) seriously looking at establish an agency to assist people who want to bring in cars of their choice from overseas. It will be a comprehensive package with all the work being done for the customer resulting in a delivery of a vehicle of your choice and specification.
Given my contacts in the finance and insurance industry, we are looking at a full featured product which will include financing, comprehensive insurance and even a warranty (as an insurance product) as well as shipping and preferential purchase pricing in the UK/Japan/Euro zone.
This is obviously dependent on the legislation actually being passed, so early days atm, but I will have further details in due course.

Wish you well if you go ahead.
The more I've researched the T6's on the VW UK website the greater my frustration with VW Aust.
Well, obtained my 1st quote today and to say I'm a little surprised is an understatement. Now some background, my 2007 LWB auto has a fair few options as listed below (24 options actually from VW factory, VW dealer and VQuip options).
I've asked for the identical spec, some things now come standard like ESP and reversing sensors.
However I asked for some major extras this time not ordered before and added 4motion, RHS sliding door, rear aircon, 2nd row 3 seater vs current 2 seater, and a few other things and it will cost me $1500 more than what I paid in 2007.... so like I said I'm a little surprised. I might still be frustrated with VW Aust but one of their dealers is definately making up for it.
For those interested, my option list from 2007.
