AWD Multivan

Hi everyone, I am looking at getting a AWD Multivan due to the family growing.

I am looking at the AWD as we are on a cattle property in CQ but was curious as the AWD has had a 20mm suspension lift has anyone "upsized" the tyres and used a AT tyre?

I am also led to believe that a Brisbane bullbar manufacturer makes a bumper replacement bar that still accomodates the front parking sensors, any info or pictures will be appreciated.

yes i have 245-70-R16 tyres on mine. many of us are running bigger tyres and some lift kits too.
East coast bull bars and queensland bullbars do them:

That would be great Murphenzo, going to be traveling from Brisbane back to CQ sometime around there so would be great to catch up but even if I am back there is always stuff to get in Rocky so I will just hold off on a trip until it suits. How much lift does the Seikel suspension give you V $$$? I am not looking at doing serious off-road stuff just traveling on gravel roads and occasional track so was thinking that the clearance is 186mm + 20 with the 4motion and if I could fit 235/65 then should get another 20mm to end up with about 225 mm clearance. I have talked to Tuff, ECB and Formula Offroad (not Qld Bullbars yet as they do not appeal to me) and they all say that they can do the transporter but not a Multivan?

Easy. I'll update you on the dates I'll be coming through when I've confirmed them.

The Seikel suspension is rated at a 30mm lift. In reality you'll see 30 in the from and about 50 in the back when unladen. Right now at full road trip weight the back sits down roughly level. At the normal day to day ride height I have about 260mm clearance at the front and over 300 at the rear. That's with 235/65r17 tires (738mm diameter, up from the 690mm factory size). The Seikel kit cost me $3k from Trakka (not cheap....but it's the only option). About $500 to have it fitted.

Actually I just put the Dynamic wheels 17x8 rims on, but made sure i got the 65mm centre bore ones that fit the amarok.

I also put on 245/65R17s and had NO ISSUES WITH CLEARANCE unlike Murphenzo. I also don't have a lift kit that i know of.
With an alignment cost me $1450 with Kumko KL51 highway terrain tires. So far they are very quiet and I'm happy. If your in Perth go to Integrity Tyres in wangarra for amazing service!!! Speak with Rob.

My only clearance issues were with the stock 17s that have a -55 offset. With the -30 dynamics I've got heaps of clearance.
245/65r17s would be getting pretty close to the inner arch on the rear (especially at the back). The diameter is also technically illegal. I was originally going to go the 245s, but stuck with 235s to avoid any issues.

Thankyou to Murphenzo for dropping in this afternoon and showing me his wheels/tyres and the Seikel Lift Kit. The combination looks good with a nice bit of ground clearance over standard.

After meeting Bruce in Rocky I headed down to Agnes Waters and 1770. I'd planned to stay in one of the camp grounds there, but damn it was packed. They were packed in like sardines. No thanks. Got on the phone to a mate that grew up in the area to sus out some beach camping sites. I ended up at Middle Creek in the Eurimbula National Park. Damn....that place IS heaven. So so good. There's about an hours 4WDing to get in there. Again I was really impressed with how the Transporter went. Aside from hating corrugations, it just eats up the dirt and rocks really nicely. No dramas in any of the creek crossings and it got up and down a few steep, rocky, rutted sections just fine. Very happy with the setup!

Fabulous place Agnes 1770 have been there quite a few times over the last few years , our first trip was back in 1972 from memory . You had to drive 80kilometres of rough dirt road from the Lowmead turnoff in those days , camping was anywhere you wanted even up on the headland near the monument with the ships anchor . We did the trip in a V8 Valiant wagon what a wild ride over the dirt and then along the sand track to the beaches at Agnes .

That's pretty awesome! Very different around there these days. I love those kinda places that are a decently hard trek to get to. They're always the best.

Looks great and glad to hear the the bus went well getting in there. Friends of ours camped in Eurimbula in warmer weather and the mossies and sandflies were a little numerous. One of the (many) disadvantages of having to pre-book and pay in Qld National Parks.
