T5 centre cap fitment

Hi all, I've just put a set of factory 17in steel wheels on my t5, and having only had alloys previously, I'm not sure how the centrecaps are supposed to fit on. Do they clip over the wheel bolt heads only? Is there some sort of circlip that mine might be missing?

My T5 (2010) has plastic caps that simply click over the bolts

Yeah, you just bang them on with your fist. The heads of the bolts retains the cover.
