Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

              Thanks MozzGTI
I'm wanting to install a set of X5 wheels but not sure what size to go. Hard to way up looks to ride, may try a set of 19's.

They are ta technixx coilovers wound down to the very lowest. The back is just a spring without the adjuster.
The rims are 19s. 10inch wide in the back with 9s on the front. You can get a kit to fit the wheels on ebay it's really easy! I stretched the tyred abit aswell (lucky as the front only has a millimetre or so to spare from the guard)

I also changed the two captain seats for a bench.

The inside is probably the best part! It's a full camper. Has a dual battery, inverter, tv, microwave, has cooker that slides out, fridge and the whole draw set up.
It's amazing for surf trips. I won't have the suspension in for long. Just for shows and what not. This is used as a surf van every weekend.

I'll chuck some photos up of the inside adap!

Sorry I don't have them anymore.

You can get the x5 wheels second hand off gumtree or something there should be heaps for sale.

I got my x5 alloys of ebay. From this guy:
                        http://www.ebay.com.au/usr/888bond888?_trksid=p2047675.l2559
Hes really detailed in the descriptions and answers any questions and sends more photos if need be.
I got my wheels in 1 day to the gold coast once he shipped them from Sydney.
