Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Dietrich the Green T4 and a Mad Max Replica infront of the Silverton Hotel. Is this the only pub that doesn't have proper meals? What a killing they could make!!

Actually you can see a great similarity between Dietrich & the Falcon. They both have black rims??

So while the pub doesn't have meals, the cafe at the top of the hill does (right of the pic with CAFE written on the roof). And very good ones too! The Railway level crossing sign still stands.

      Municipal offices.

Into the Silverton Goal we went. After the promontion I read before we left, I had high expectations. However, there was little about the history of the goal, and more about the lifestyle of early Silverton. I got very excited about this pic of the Silverton Railway in the 1930s, but I'm not so sure it is of Silverton. Some landmarks don't fit. Note the number of houses in the picture.

A trip to the cemetary was last on the adgenda.

All that's left of the Railways at Silverton.

        Sunday 13/4/2008, Day 6.

        The view across the road.

Deserted main street Sunday morning as we left for the lookout.

Great views from the Joe Keenan Lookout, situated in the town.

On the way through town. I had a request to get some pics of the T% Ambulances. I found the address, but as we were near I noticed another lookout we'd not seen before, giving views towards the south .

A couple of cars for sale (not VWs).

Cory wanted some pics of the inside of the Ambulance. I wandered around looking for someone to ask, but only found these.

Without success, we headed back to the Tourist Park, seeing this long long on the way.

                With a Police escort.

After some lunch, we headed for the 'Line of Lode' Broken Hill miners memorial and visitors centre, as there are some great views as well as refreshments from there.

                The road leading up.

A mine tractor with the visitors centre in the backgroud.

Looking the other way with Dietrich the Green T4 in the background.

                Looking towards The Pinnicles.

The Railway yards & Station are in the foreground. Note the second Engine on the Freight Train is marked "The Ghan".

After leaving the centre, I decided to head down to BH Sth, and followed the road to Wentworth, the road we would take on Tuesday to return to Adelaide. Here we found a great little park. Millie enjoyed her run. Despite the lateness of the afternoon, there were many people taking advantage of the pleasant day & surroundings.

THE POLE! It is still bent, and still has green paint on it.

                        The damage the pole caused.

bad luck about the panels! where did you get it fixed? not at bh?

                        nice paintwork though
