  • Faulty door lock - 2008 T5 2.5 128kw

Just got my new van back after major service to be told there is a fault in the driver's door locking mechanism. Interior light does not come on, and doors re-lock after about 30 sec. Could easily lock keys inside the van.
Any ideas how to fix, or cost of repair by dealer? All help welcomed.

Had the exact same problem with our T5 I found it was a micro switch that's part of the locking mechanism where the door hits the striker . I managed to squirt some oil into the mechanism and it was fixed , seems there is apart that gets sticky preventing the switch from being activated . Best way maybe is to remove the door trim and remove the lock assembly clean relube and refit or cheat like me oil the bugger . To test the theory is leave the door open and close the locking latch manually then lock the van unlock again and see if the light comes on or not , that's how I found out what part was causing the problem .

Quick spray of lube and everything is working again. I'm glad because the instructions linked to by Steve looked wayyyyyy too hard.
            Cheers guys.
