ID:	1809982Okay final update new bushes now fitted a HUGE thank you to Jimmy at Jmac for letting me use his hydraulic press to fit them into the control arms . Now the spline what a dream that was to do whilst the lower control arm was off I just unbolted the drive shaft from the front hub and also removed the two mounting bolts half way along the drive axle . removed the axle with CV's in then there was a hexagonal head bolt inside the main gearbox spline as this was being removed it has a spring which automatically pulls it out of the housing brilliant ! inserted the new shaft and bolted it back into place refitted the axle and DONE! there is virtually no slack in the drive train now much better , a picture of the old part you can see how the splines are so thin at the end compared to the normal thickness at the inner end .Click image for larger version

Thanks Jmac yes I could hear and feel the take up in the drive train when I would down shift strange that it is the DS that has the wear maybe something to do with the old days when you tried to put your old rear wheel drive car into a corner hard , the tendency was to always try for the power slide in a right hand corner HA HA . Thanks again for the use of the press just got to get to the tyre guys for a rotation and alignment .Howard
