Thanks in advance guys .Click image for larger version

New globes from either the Philips or Osram range. I run the Philips X-tremevision globes in the T4.

      Get these ones:
      ARB H4 12V 110/80
Awesome globes, warm white colour, about $30 each.
I have run them in a T4 and T5 for the last 10 years with no probs (same set!!)

Thanks hoddy I will look into them . I was a bit concerned the onboard canbus system would detect the difference and then have heart attack . These newer electrics in the VW's seem prone to disliking changes made to any component without changing the codes . The Cree spot light only reads the high beam pulse and then it operates via a heavy relay . Interesting little nasty trick I have played a couple of times is to pass a known fixed speed camera at night if there are cars in front just as they pass the camera flick the high beam really quick and suddenly the cars slam on the brakes as they think the speed camera has flashed them , [admits here to no longer doing this as its not the thing to do ]

          that's great!
the T5 GP isn't as sensitive as other modern VWs
Mine is running the Philips DiamondVision - they claim to be 5000K? Looks nice.

            Gday Sunny.
One word: Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited (ok, 3)
Buy from Powerglobes in the UK.
Best price you will get, and FAST FREE shipping.
            Tell em Ken sent you!
I have them in three vehicles, and believe me, I did my research.
Powerbulbs are a brilliant, cheap way to buy lights and I doubt you will buy any other way after buying from them.
            Hope this is of help.

Still looking guys and the thing that only concerns me is are both the suggestions legal under ADR's here ? I did notice the Diamond Visions are not for on road use in the EU and because Australian rules are somewhat more restrictive it could be an issue , any one had a run in with the transport guys with them installed .

I think we have Philips BlueVision bulbs in our Golf. Despite the name they are 4000k colour (white, no blue tinge) and are ECE approved so should be good for ADR. I remember at the time looking for something specifically approved and recall the Philips www said they were ADR compliant.

                  Osram Nightbreaker Globes

The Osrams are available in Australia and are standard wattage and white colour so no issues. They just are a high spec globe. Again though, purchase from Power Bulbs as they are cheaper than Australian prices and will get them to you in a week.

Geez, that's even more than I would have thought they sold for here!
Now I dont feel bad buying from the UK. Actually, Ive bought close to $1300 in Daytime running lights and other globes from them for the Van, my MGTF and my BMW K1200S.
Im also modding my lights with Projector lenses where needed and Halo rings all round, although those parts are comming from Italy and the US.
                      Best wishes Sunny.

Sunny there's a place here in VIC called Blingwork Auto. I've been buying my bulbs from them for the past few years. Cheaper than any retail shop!
