  • T5 Gurgling/sucking sound?

I know it sounds a bit weird.
From 1600 to 2000 rpm when under load (going up hills) we get a gurgling/sucking sound. It doesn't seem to happen when not under load, just when going up hills. Is there a problem with the turbo? Could there be a leak in an air pipe?
    Thoughts?

Depends where noise is coming from, if under dash it might be the coolant level has dropped,
therefore gurgling of coolant through the heater core, check coolant level if so.

Coolant level sounds interesting. Where should I look?
I wonder if I can post a sound file here. Anyone know?

I've noticed a "winding down' kind of noise after I turn the engine off. It's intermittent, but I believe its mostly (though not all the time) after I've had the air con on. The mechanic said that could be the turbo or diesel 'something' cooling down and it might last up to ten seconds after shutdown. About 5 seconds is what I've counted as a max so far.

Sound's to me like the problem I had twice with my11 transporter, I was lossing small amounts off pressure at low revs very small but I could feel it surging and gurgling while coasting in a car park. And when I would shut the engine there would be a humming for a 5 minutes. First time I went to the dealer they told me it was normal , after some calls they went over it again and found a faulty solenoid for the turbo, problem went away for a couple of months then came back, they replaced the solenoid again and now 12 months on no problems.
Maybe this could be your issue?
