We have a T5 (2006) which we have enjoyed for 110km.
In the last service, after mentioning problems with the DSG,
our (local) VW service department has uncovered the following:
- Seal broke (inside transmission?)
- (Transmission) Oil leaked through transmission
- Wiring (harness) and Control Unit are soaked in Oil
They quote $4095 for material (CU and wiring) and $1800 labor.
I am a bit at loss, as to whether proceed or not.
Should I get quotes from other VW service partners as well?
Also, out T5 (Highline) has been used heavily (4 kids, all boys), so it is not
in "mint" condition anymore. I planned to drive it for at least two more
years. Just looking for advice, if to keep, and better look for a replacement.
