For sure, maybe your T5 was "special". Mine has only done 8000kms. The trim around the internal door handle is showing wear and tear scratches, the black trim that you step on to enter the van is scratching just to name a few. Not surprising really when the plastic material used is hard and "scratchy" with this term used by the motoring press for cheap interior materials. Well at least it all fits together well, for now anyway.

My only wish for an future models is that if fitted with factory cruise control there should be a symbol or light that changes color to indicate that the cruise is engaged the fact at the moment is that you only have a silly symbol that shows that it is switched on , my aftermarket one I had in my work T5 had small LED with the word "cruise" around the outside when switched on it is green then when its engaged it turns red a bloody good idea in my opinion .

I am confused with your comment.
My cruise control light only comes on when cruise control is engaged. Touch the brake pedal and the light goes off.
        Does yours function differently?

I will unconfuse you I was making reference to the 2004 to 2010 model transporters both ours with factory cruise only have a cruise symbol that just stays lit up when the cruise is switched on it does not change regardless of engaged or not , now the cruise fitted to our 2011 model has not been activated in BCM yet as I am waiting on a new clock spring . Hopefully it will do what yours does and if so I will happily withdraw my comment . Ready to admit wrong request if VW have made a change to correct what was a poor design in the previous model that remained for 6 years or so .

My 2007 Crewvan had cruise fitted, and it functioned exactly the same way my current van does.
I would say that there is a fault or incorrect installation/activation of the system in your van.
Was your cruise factory fitted, or fitted later?
I know that there were/are different parts for the cruise control on those vans depending on which model van you had. When I bought my van, I had to wait for the correct parts to arrive, as they did not have the ones for my Crewvan. Not sure if it was because it had the MFD or some other reason.

Our first T5 was delivered and ordered with the cruise already in before arriving at the dealers , we saw the car when it arrived so I presumed it was fitted at the factory [maybe not ?] The other T5 which is the one I did just recently is exactly the same , I am guessing that maybe because these two vans are well standard models ie not Multi or MFD , the others might have different components in the instrument binnacle . Look it does not bother me greatly as I have been used to it for nearly ten years or more , I just presumed it was made that way .

I know now what you meant. In my Territory, you turn cruise on and it states it's on in the centre dash display, and when you actually set a speed it adds the speed setting below in the same display window with a symbol in the dash gauge as well. In my T5 my07, when cruise is on there is no display indicating this and it's only when you set a speed that an icon appears in the dash.

This is a concept that will be released Tuesday morning - New Volkswagen e-Co-Motion Concept Hints at a Smaller Transporter Model - Carscoops

Basically possible new Polo sized commercial van - VW have toyed with this with the Bulli (passenger) and eT! concepts so I think it is highly likely this sub Caddy will get the green light and be released 2015 globally.

Hints at what a T6 may look like.........

Nice looking van somewhat more streamlined than the current Caddy . If you look at the headlights it almost looks angry it has a squint look about it .

I hope that's a very strong hint! Looks great and hopefully Crafter gets this, hate the vertical styling of headlights.

Have the distance to empty on the trip computer change in single units rather then dropping in units of ten.
