Big Crack in T5 windscreen

Yesterday I found a 6 inch crack Low down and centre of the windscreen. No fallen trees, rocks or bodies in sight. Today after a long drive the crack is now a foot long.

Any clues about this? Could it be a warranty issue?

Probably not unless you can prove an manufacturing fault

You did tick the free windscreen box on your comprehensive insurance didnt you

If its moving body stresses are coming into play.


Did 4 in 6 months in one of the buses I used to drive A little chip, drive across the camber at a roundabout in a hurry and wham right across all in one go.

Had a stone hit about an inch from the corner in my Landcruiser just pushed it on the inside with my hand and away it went.

Didnt matter needed a new screen anyway but they dont take much to make them spread.

My work van got hit twice by rock did not hear the impact [stereo too loud] any way second one caused crack a few inches from pass side stayed that way for months then one day whilst parked in hot sun drove off and minutes later the crack was 3/4 of the way across the whole screen . Have a look for a tiny chip I.ll bet there's one there somewhere .
