Manual driving lessons by a professional instructor.... It's got to be cheaper and less mental anguish than what you have gone through with the autos. If the Vw is THE car you need for every other reason you have listed, learning to drive manual should be a small compromise.

Thanks for that IN2VWS pity that was not in the Triptronic , I wonder why they made the DSG different do you think that maybe just maybe VW realized after the Triptronic that they made a mistake ???or just a precaution for DSG owners to ensure VW did not cop the flack they did with the Triptronic auto . Hmmmmm interesting part of the booklet is that they say only the oil only is changed in the Transporter - Multi van but in the Caddy they include the filter . Am I to take it that VW are still leaving the DSG "sealed" for life ????as the proof of service says oil and filter changed as necessary that seems a little unclear .

Nope, DSG not sealed for life, only the 7 speed DSG in the cars like 90, 118 TSI etc. DSG still has the high performance filter and Oil change. Ill check drain times pretty sure still 60k. By the way just to clarify and its no biggie but its not Triptronic but Tiptronic guys.

Thanks Jim my mistake Tiptronic not what I have been writing , I hope to have ours back soon as I want to see what the car Stealers oops dealers will offer for it . I am just so over the van now that I can,t see our relationship with this van going on any longer , and for those interested I have written twice the second time with photo evidence to Germany directly about the situation with our particular problem , they have been very diplomatic in the way they handle customer inquires . They only say that they will contact Australia VW to get them to sort something out so far absolutely nothing positive from them . I will see what happens over the next week .
