Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • aerial for 2007 multivan

Hi Everyone, I just have a questionon aerials in the multivan highline. Is the aerial in the windscreen? I have just purchased a 2007 model and theowner tells me that when the windscreen was replaced they didnt replace itwith the correct " aerial" windscreen. The people I got it off are bretheren so they have no need for a radio anyway.
They said it was about $700 to get the new screen with an aerial. Is there anyway of retro fitting an aerial or is a new screen the only option?

    Cheers , Brendan.

    New screen, I'm afraid.

Here's hoping they haven't busted the connector in the roof that joins the antanna wiring to the car's wiring.

I'm almost sure that, if you don't mind the aerial on the roof or somewhere else on the van, there would be a many aerials that would do the job to choose from. I wouldn't certainly be replacing the windscreen for that reason.

for that price I would have an aerial on the door! I will take it too the local auto electrician and see if he has any ideas.
        Thanks for the replies.

Is it only the real late models that have some aerials in the side mirror ??
