Silly question from a new beach owner

Anyone got any opinions on seat covers and floor mats? I assume standard multivan floor mats would work, but in terms of seat covers I am not so sure....

Okay take this from a motor trimmer with over 40 years experience DO NOT put seat covers over cloth seats , trust me the easiest way to damage your cloth seats is putting covers over them you see the fine dirt particles will filter down through the fabric and end up on your nice seat inserts . This dirt will stain your seats and become abrasive to the fibres . If you must put covers on take them off at least once a month and wash them and vacumm thoroughly the original seats . Sheepskin covers are cosy and proper ones will stop the dirt BUT they will crush your original covers and leave marks where they are sewn together in sections . Again my opinion only , I have with all my own vans and cars just vacummed and used a compressed air blower to regularly clean the seats they will then last for years and years . Now if you have leather [not my cup of tea] then regular application of leather dressing is required as leather is from the cow who has now passed on . So once he has given his all for your seats he is no longer replenishing the natural oils that kept his skin soft . Again you should never cover leather as it can be abrazed by dirt getting between the two . If you have kids who persist in eating in your pride and joy get them a towel to put on their laps hopefully it will save your seats . If you go to have a service done make sure they fit covers on the seats as some [not the good ones] could jump in with grease covered overalls etc . Floor mats are a very good idea as some of the carpets in todays cars etc are made of a synthetic material that is a mongrel to clean but more importantly wears so easily and its very rare these days to see car makers fit what we call "heel mats" to them . Heel mats were in the older days were moulded to the carpets under the drivers feet to save the carpets from heel wear . PLEASE guys don,t jump on me for my opinion about seat covers just remember I spent 30 odd plus years making money from just what I have explained so you can take my advise with a generous amount of truth and honesty . It makes a good sense to me.
I use Kirby vacum cleaner quite often in our cars. However, I must have the seat covers in my T5 and am guilty not cleaning them often enough.
