The Penrite actually recommends HPR5 now, NOT HPRDiesel5. Also keep in mind that only oil that has VW approval in Penrite range is Enviro+5W30.
Use anything else and you may regret it later. It takes long time to clog the rings with the deposit. You could use LIQUI MOLY 0W30 SYNTHOIL LONGTIME PLUS that is VW approved for T5 and I stock it as well as the Penrite oils.
Penrite aren't approved any more. They weren't bothered for two engines only!
Fuchs is cheapest so far at $137 /5l but have to buy 20l.
Probably look overseas.

You almost get the impression that the manufactureres are making it harder and harder for the home mechanic to do a simple oil change themelves . The requirements of today seem so restrictive that most people give up and pay through the nose for the oil at a dealer or take the risk whatever happened to the good old days .
