It might be to you but it took my son to point them out to me. After about 6 years of ownership of T4s I hadn't ever noticed them.

They look a bit 'aftermarket' and the seller is possibly Asian, but they appear to be pretty solid and arrived in time. Anyway both were about 10x cheaper than what I would have had to pay in OZ for.
Sounds like you had a win. Pleased to see the aftermarket guys are filling a need. At the back of my mind I am aware that a lot of spares for T4 will dry up as our vans get older. VW will want us to bin our "old" vans & step up into a new T5.

My EGR didn't look quite as dirty as yours so maybe yours hasn't been cleaned before either. Was the foam covering your inlet still intact or was it coming apart like mine?

          Needs modding!!!!!
I've the same airbox in my June 2001 build TDi....never really had an issue with it. What's different in the EU and why would it be better/more effective?

As for the EGR....mine has never been touched. I wonder what it looks like?

Don,t you just love the button for the aircon in the T4,s when we bought our 2000 T4 brand new it came with one of those stupid buttons . What gives surely it could have been made with the simple 3 letters AIR a white cross give me a break !!!! Look at the one to the right you can clearly see the rear window demister sign on it so why not on the aircon button .

It would be interesting to see what was fitted originally in Europe. The Oz versions with air were fitted with the aftermarket Denso units & the switch would have been part of that kit.

Oh I agree with you completly but if these Aussie units were approved by VW then they could have at least fitted VW switch to keep the dash uniform . I certainly can,t recall the dealer saying it was a non genuine air con unit , and yes it worked fine for our conditions but the swtich damn !

The headlight adjuster are a real pain but as we had two I was able to get the best for his van from the two . Have alook at the finsihed product here http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/foru...y-3785-22.html Scroll down theres a few pics of the van as it is now
. As I was a motor trimmer by trade you can see that the interior is special , we both do a bit of Moto Cross racing and riding so the van is fitted out to be as sound proof as it can and comfortable with lots of creature comforts , plus being able to transport the bikes to the tracks . I spent a lot of time sound proofing all of our vans so they are really quiet out on the highway , his van has fold out DVD player in the dash along with a fifteen inch dvd player roof mounted at the rear for those nights when we camp out . The stereo is still an ongoing project as he wants his to be as loud as mine [ he hates the fact that mine has a more powerful stereo ] As I have told him I am growing old disgracefully , I,m sixty in April and I still love my music loud .
What made you go for a petrol engine and not a TDi?

                              Little update:

I have lately done some minor upgrades and cosmetics but nothing worth mentioning in my opinion. The project has come to a halt at the moment as I am trying to raise money for another project. It will continue in the future, but for now it has to stay as it is.

Hello T45LV10 the main reason for the petrol was cost we bought a whole van $3500 and took out everything to do the transplant the old 2.4 was just not a performer the 2.5 petrol goes hard . When we finished his van I refitted the old motor etc to the donor van and resold it on ebay for a tidy profit of nearly $3000 , its amazing how a bit of spit and polish and some cosmetic work made a daggy van look so good .
