  • Transporter T5 service schedule

Hey "Transporter", have you posted a service schedule for the T5 as you have for the Touareg, Im taking my 05Transporter for its 100k service to a non dealer mechanic and would like to give that to him so the job is fully done. All I know so far is that the timing belt must be replaced. Thanks in advance . Noticed that you have one for the higher KW engine, how different is the service for a 96kw engine?

There is no timing belt in your 5 cyl. 96kW engine. The 96kW and 128kW models have the same maintenance. I suggest the air filter at 45,000km or sooner (depends where you drive), fuel filter at 90,000km, the coolant every 4years, Haldex oil at 60,000km if you have 4Motion manual. The brake fluid every 2 years (regardless of the km's).

    Is yours manual or auto?

I will update the thread later.

Thanks Transporter, funny that the Ballarat dealer said big service, timing belt. how unsurprising. Manual 6 speed 4motion transmission, dealers have done servicing so hopefully Haldex oil changed, noticed that the brake fluid at least has been changed, now I will look for an airfilter box to be ticked.

Yep another case of dealer ignorance we were also told big service because of timing belt Doh no timing belt only gears for timing drive , as I eneded up getting second opinion about timing belt I did not proceed with VW , I still wonder would they have fessed up that there was no belt or just proceeded with an expensive service and kept quiet .
