  • New T4/T5 Magazine on the Market! Who's got it already?

    Hey guys,

    Yesterday, I finally received Issue #1 and just love it. It cost me AUS$11 to get it delivered to Australia, but it's soooo much worth it. My wife already told me to subscribe to it!

    Who else has it already?

        They have been talking about this mag. for some months now on the T4 Forum.I think it has been produced by a couple of the guys on that forum. Not sure if it would interest me as it seems to be mainly about events in the UK. I would be more interested if it was more technical.

          Can someone check to see if there is the obligatory center fold like most British mags etc , then I will subscribe [maybe] Howard

            @Sunny

            yes it has a center fold showing the red T4 and the (porsche-) grey T5. The colours aren't too great on the center fold, which has already been criticized on the T4 forum. But this is only the first issue and there are already big talks about changing a thing or two...

            @jets
            You are right there is quite a bit of text about the uk scene (and the T4 forum generally) which has been already pointed out a good couple of times to the makers of the mag. It is one point that annoys me, that there are (currently) heaps of cross references to the T4 forum. I believe this will change as the editor has already mentioned that they are discussing that issue internally.

            What I like about the mag is, that it gives you heaps of good ideas for future mods etc. I believe my mod-wishlist is now twice as long as before issue #1

                  yeah apparently the first issue was just a trial which was only available at certain newsagents, but don't quote me on that I only vaguely remember reading it somewhere.

                  Have I mentioned yet how excited I am about this magazine?

                        That's hard to say. It really depends on what you expect. If you are after full on technical stuff and know-how, then it is nothing for you. Each issue features a few vans and/or dokas from normal people or professional workshops.

                        For me as a 'new' van owner it gives me a bit of inspiration and usefull links to uk-based online shops for T4 related stuff. There is always a huge 'T4-lifestyle' section with reports from meets, charity stuff and cruises.

                        Apart from the van features and the odd (technical-)features it is quite a lite read. I still don't mind because it is run by normal people with the intention to do something for the T4 community, instead of a big publisher looking to make a quick Dollar by throwing some issues onto the market.

                        So hey, I guess this really doesn't help much.

                        Send me a PM if you are interested in having read

                          I reckon the mag is alright to be honest, has given me a few ideas for the truck as far as finish goes.

                            Might take up the single digital version and see how it is.
