Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • 2011 Transporter - 18/19inch

    Hello everyone.

New member, and a new owner of a 2011 Transporter (grey).
I already have a question for you guys!~

I want to look at getting some 18 or 19inch Audi wheels for my van.
Have any of you put big wheels on your transporter? How does it ride? Any info on your experience would be great!!

    These are the wheels I plan to get LINK - ( http://autocarsmodified.com/wp-conte...-RS5-Wheel.jpg ) . 2012 RS5 Audi wheels.

does you insurance company allow these wheels?

    Thanks again.

I am sure this has been covered before in the forum but the main thing is that the load rating is critical as insurance issues could arise in the case of an accident and also the local Transport authorities could catch you out . Next I am guilty of non genuine alloys on both our vans 6 years on and no problems so far but I did stay with the same diameter that the vans came with , if you go beyond the manufacturers largest size then ride will be compromised rubber bands for tyres do not make for good comfort they might look good but ride like s%^&*t Howard
