G'day.
Just pickup last week a new T5. 132kw, LWB manual. pretty much bone stock standard. Plan is to add all the bits I want at much less than $tealer cost.
Loving the van, this is my first after having a 4x4. I'm using it for hauling race bikes around and for camp/surf trips.
I have found tho that it's hard to find out info and places on the web for getting stuff done, the shops I've called for things like extra tie downs, flooring, carpeting etc are pretty vague.
Plans for the van are :
- Upgrade the stock RDC210 with a RDC510 (already bought off ebay for $300)
- black out the windows
- Wood floor - already done, found a great non-slip dark wood laser cut wood floor with recessed ties downs and fitted already cheaper than other places wanted for a rubber mat!
- bit of sound proofing
- box out the wheel arches and bung some speakers in em.
- board up the walls and carpet that up
- build a fold up bed
- Wife doesn't like the 17" steelies so some wheels eventually
- get it lowered 40mm so it goes in my garage!
- fit cargo barrier with a middle gap that I bought for $150
Some things I'd like to get done sooner, some will happen over time. the 132kw is such a nice thing to drive. kinda wish I'd got the drivers seat upgrade but nothing a good seat place can't fixup.
