  • Multivan CD Player Upgrade

Just ordered stock standard Multivan Comfortline 103. Nothing fancy at all but looking at a few threads it looks like upgrading to the RCD510 or RNS510 is not a big issue.
Bit of a noob at this stuff but was wondering if someone could help me out.

Couple of question to those in the know.
The RNS510 is complete with SatNav but I understand there needs to be a upgrade or different ariel, is this correct ?
It appears the RNS510 installation is very similar to a RCD510, plug and play (maybe with the exception of the ariel).

Just like to hear anyone experiences with installing these things in the Multivan and if it will all work without the integrated steering wheel controls.

    Thanks
    Gus

No Upgrade needed. The RNS510 will plug and play exactly the same as the stock RCD310. You will receive a GPS arial with the RNS and this needs to be positioned above the unit. In my case it sits on a bit of foam just under the tray on the dash top.

Apart from the GPS arial the installation is exactly the same.

If you are not getting a MF steering wheel then there will be no issues with using either the RCD510 or RNS. They can be fully operated from their buttons and touchscreens.

Awesome thanks Sharkie, ended up getting the RCD 510 (against the advice of most). Now just have to get the van and install.
