Tongue style T5 Towbar

I have a 09 T5 with colour coded bumpers and I need a light rated towbar for towing about 240kg max. I just don't want to spoil the look of my van.
Does anyone know if it's possible for me to have a towbar on my van that doesn't have the protector bars like in this pic: VW Transporter Tow Bar Sydney
The towbar shop I called told me i have no choice
If anyone has any pics I would love to see.

Yeah like that one. But that doesn't look like any T5 rear bar i've ever seen..

What you have seen is the hayman and reese bar very ugly.

here are the hitch reciver part numbers for the genuine parts
not the tounge type but the low mount square reciver.

McLovin, I had to chase up the same thing a little while ago

Had the same problem, everone sells the towbar with the full width bar

I did fine one place that can get an aftermarket tongue tow bar only

Not your neck of the woods, but they might be able to put you onto someone that can supply and fit the same thing over your way

And bug, thanks for the numbers, haven't had one fitted yet, might look into the genuine one

Thanks thevwbug for that information that might be the neatest way of doing it.
My T5 is too nice to stick a big ugly bar across the back.

Cousin that's for the info too I'll give them a call just to see what they can do.

The one that I have fitted to my T5 is made by Best Bars.

Just had one fitted too
It's a Hayman Reece hitch with a tongue, and no side bars, almost identical to Transporters
Had it fitted by Melbourne Towbars
Can't post a pic just at the mo, cos my T5 is off getting a reco auto fitted

and just reading my post above, I did book in with Daalder, got down there and they had a full rear bar to go on, after I ordered one without.
I took a walk!

I have the genuine one on our T5.1, sure as hell didn't want the big arse ugly black bar on our Dexter

Does anybode have a suggestion for a place in Brisbane to fit a hitch receiver on a T5.1?

If it's a genuine VW one you'll need to get the dealer to do part of the installation (programming) so you might as well get them to do it all, make sure that you get a quote prior to them starting, I just got hit $595 for fitting mine even though I had fitted the bar & had the park sensor wiring to the front of the van. If its none genuine try Aranda, but once again get a quote.
