  • Integrated child seats

Just reading through my multivan booklet 2.1 on saftey and it talks about integrated child seats.
It looks like the actual seats can be adjusted as booster seats fro children.
I have seen this concept on volvos....... anyone actually have or have heard of this seat in the VW in australia? a quick google shows me a few vehicles in the U.K with them.

I got a little excited when I read about those too for the sheer simplicity of booster seats for older children, especially in light of our new child seat laws.

Sadly it seems it's not something that is on Australian delivered vehicles (at least it's not on my MY10) but is in the manual.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

They also appear in the Passat handbooks.....but I'll wager VW Oz didn't want to pay for ADR compliance so they aren't fitted. Of course, they may appear in top spec Passat's.....but that's a bit stratospheric for this little brown duck

I have seen these in a Passat here in Australia, these must of beaten the new laws or prehaps they are ok.

These are a very good idea.

If they are of the isofix type then our local ADR boffins (and I use the terms very loosely in this instance) iirc haven't approved isofix for Aust even though it's considered superior and less prone to incorrect installations.

The new Dodge Journey has integrated child booster seats so I don't see why VW couldn't have them. Lets face it, when a $25 KMart special foam insert counts as a "safety seat" these integrated ones have to at least be better than those :S

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

                That's just an arm rest.

I have seen a picture before for the middle row captains chairs but can't find it.
Here's the Passat which is similar:
