If you can pardon all the dust and dirt (it's between bath's at the moment) I've just ducked outside and taken these for you:

Yes, they are an genuine part which replace the fabric mats and yes they cover the whole front. There is a centre piece that goes down first then the two sides go on and overlap to get a very good coverage. There is also little latches that hold it in place so it doesn't slid around.

I much prefer the rubber over the carpet mats since they are soooo much easier to keep clean and you don't have to worry about having wet feet so much

            Hi Aaron,
could you please post the picture of the middle rubber mat how is it attached to the floor and center under dash panel. I have my center bit hanging on the wall in my garage since I never spent the time to figure out how to fit it.

Nice stereo too, very snug fit.

Finally managed to get some pictures... albeit in the dark

The centre pieve has two lock down points and extends out about 3" or so in either direction:

Both the drivers side and passenger side then have another two lock down points and overlap the centre piece:

As for a part number, sorry I didn't see one... but then I also didn't look really hard Will have a better look when it's light out and I remember.

The rubber mats were included with my T5 Beach. I believe they are a Transporter part. The part number was on the plastic hanger they are originally supplied with...

                      I can answer that one

Pioneer F20BT - Mr Hawk has put his own VW Logo startup screen on it, which looks awesome by the way

If I don't want CAN interface, will this be a decent unit?

                          Yes and No.

For the price (which is less than the RNS), it has full bluetooth for your phone, DVD player, SD Card, iPod (or USB) hookup as well as sat nav and reversing camera (Note the camera isn't included in the box and is an option, but well worth asking for if you go down this path). So feature wise it's brilliant.

It's very easy to use, although the GUI isn't always consistent as it switches between 'swipe to scroll' and 'press (onscreen) button to scroll' in different sections. Not a big deal once you play with it for a few minutes.

Now for the no part. The navigation seems to take very screwy routes and doesn't seem to re-calculate on the fly so well. For example if it tells me NOT to take the M7 for some reason (even though I tell it Tolls are OK and take the fastest route) and I take the M7 anyway it keeps trying to get me off at every exit, even though it's a straight run to where I am going.
Maybe I'm just used to way that TomTom navigates, but the path it chooses doesn't always seem logical. Bottom line though, if you follow it, it gets you where you are going.

It's also worth nothing that in my case I still have issues with the FM reception. It seems to be limited to my particular vehicle and I have reports of others using this head unit with no problems. The dealer, installer and Pioneer are all stumped and are still working towards solving the problem, but something I need to mention anyway.

So feature wise you can't go past it, the navigation quirks are something which you can live with. I am however interested in having a bit of a run with the factory unit to see how the GPS system compares in the real world. Also since this is an aftermarket or dealer fit option anyway, I'd like to see a price comparison of an imported RNS with reversing camera and iPod connector included to see how much the price difference is then.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

Pioneer list them at $3k, but then places like Ryda:

Ryda GPS Navigation - Pioneer GPS Navigation

list them for $1,900 (+ the camera + install)

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.
