We're looking at buying a LWB T5 Transporter for campervan conversion. Unfortunately major companies such as Trakka, Frontline and KEA no longer deal with conversions and only sell their overpriced full fitouts. Macron (Central Coast) and All Seasons (Sydney) quoted us about $6500-$7000 for a LWB T5 Transporter, while Pro RV Conversions (Central Coast) quoted us closer to $6000.
We were fortunate enough to take a look at Pro RV's work the other week, and like what we saw. He doesn't have an actual workshop at the moment and is working out the back of a panelbeater's. We called him and asked if we could see some of his work and he agreed.
He had a SWB T5 in there with the roof almost done, looked professional and sturdy. He also had a partially done Sprinter and a Hiace there and the same with those. He mentioned he'd be getting a couple of T4s in later on as well.
We're seriously considering him as we like his work and his prices seem very reasonable.
...Does anyone know if Discoverer Campers is still around? www.discoverer.webtelligence.com.au still works, but I tried their main site http://www.discoverercampers.com.au/ and it errored out.
...And we're planning on going down to Sydney soon to check out vans/campers, does anyone know if you can go visit the address supplied by Just Kampers on their site?
I spoke to Just Kampers and they DO NOT do a roof for a T5.....
I said they should and they said if there was enough interest they would consider it.
I told him that I could supply him details of at least 10 companies in the UK that could supply them them he seemed interested.
Just to note....
All there stuff comes in containers from the UK.
I ordered something the other week thats made in China and it goes to the UK first then goes to Sydney then to Adelaide.

I think slide-in unit is a great idea as I don't want to have permanent structure inside the van, so that I can use the van as a family vehicle during the week. When I go on a trip then just slide in the kitchen unit and use it as a camper. The top of the drawers can be used as sleeping surface during the night. ...
Jackie.
Jackie - not sure if you have done anything re your fit out but there is a Trakka kitchen unit on eBay at the moment. It is a self contained basin, electric faucet, water cube, fridge and cooktop unit! You could mount it on a slide at the rear of your van.
