    I would not waste your time with VWA they are only 'customer non care persons" they will only contact the dealer and then the dealer contacts you so around and around you go .

      Eventually they did get back and they did offer to cover half the price of the part - but it is still going to cost me close to $2000 all in. And they have had it for weeks now.

      Should I expect expensive repairs like this every year? My 15 year old Lexus has been perfect, only failure has been the internal boot release switch doesn't work, but other than that just regular maintenance costs, no extra parts or limp mode fiascos.
