Have'nt been fitted yet, but will be when more stocks arrive from Germany in a few weeks time.
Cost is $850.00 inc' gst and they are quoting 30mm lower.
however as the suspension guy says, it is an enhanced ride which is the greater benefit of the spring, particularly when cornering.
With a bit of luck it is 30mm technically but hoping for a bit more in reallity.

Just fitted a set of -40mm EIbachs to the T5.

The drive is a lot tighter than VW springs.

I bought them second hand(the bloke has gone for adjustable platforms)

I hoped it would lower it a little more than it looks but its no problem.

Will try and get a pic up.

yeah i got quoted 1K for supply and fit 30mm eibach springs but I cant justify spending that much for a bit over an inch. I need minimum 50mm.

Back to the lowering topic again.

Perhaps some of you fellas' can give some advice /opinion, I called the Vw dealership about lowering my new T5 and was told by the service manager that fitting these springs would void the warranty on the drive train?

Does that sound right and what specifically is the drive train?

Any modification that "might" be the cause of trouble gives VWA wriggle room to get out of paying for warranty fixes. Theoretically they have to "prove" the mod caused the problem, but in practice I think the owner may have to prove it didn't. So yes, sounds about right (it is a hidden cost of modding your vehicle, as the saying goes, "You have to pay to play").

"drive train" is everything between the engine and the tyres, so in the case of a 2wd T5 that would be flywheel, clutch, gearbox, driveshafts (splines, CV joints, hubs). In this scenario it is the driveshafts, CV joints and gearbox splines that are most likely to cause grief (they are a bit fragile even on a std T5).

IIRC on the 4Motion T5s you may need to shim the rear diff to get the right angle for the rear diff or somesuch (but I only have a very vague recollection of this, so it might only be for raised suspension, not lowered).

It also depends on how much lower you want to go, some T5 models are lower than others straight from the factory.

Thanks for the advice and info' , I am rethinking the whole lowering situation and probably won't go ahead until warranty has expired- 3years. Good chance that during the next 3 years the suspension will settle down anyway.

If I had been able to order my T5 from factory, I did want to order the suspension updrade.

If you are like me you will be buying the extended factory warranty from VW to keep you covered as long as possible.

Has anyone tried the UK based spring supplier on Ebay? good price.
I have just ordered some for my T5, I'll let you know how I go when they arrive, I hope they do arrive.

They also do a smart looking car bra's (bonnet protector)

Would you be able to provide a link?
Have just got interested in the spring and suspension thing for the T5, now that I am comparing to the new car, which drives a lot flatter. Until I did the comparison I wasn't aware how much the T5 body rolls.

I cancelled the order when the supplier notified me that the freight $ was incorrect & they wanted to charge GBP 150 to send the GBP 165 springs to Australia.

Just looked on te eibach site, and they don't make a performance spring kit for the 4-Motion T5
Can anybody suggest an alternative supplier?

                              Hi Rob,
Will be good to meet with you when you finally turn up on the sunny shores of Adelaide.
Any thoughts on springs for the T5 4- Motion? Will these stop/slow the body roll? Or do I need to have a look at other options as well?

                                Shogun,

I have H&R springs on mine, see this thread

The springs have definitely reduced the body roll; it was instantly noticeable even at low speeds. The downside is the ride is noticeably harsher too.
