Which is another (but really polite) way of saying truly fugging ugly.....

Who on the planet would dream of a love child between the JDM version of the Honda Odessey and the T5........apart perhaps from a mad German with way too much scnapps on board?

Another great example of why butterscotch scnapps should be banned.

whats wrong with it? It looks just like the scirocco, MKVI, Volks-ute thing, Passat CC etc etc... They're just continuing the styling cues, and besides it'll look much much better when a decent rendering comes out

I'd heard rumours (and that is all they are), that VW was intent on splitting the transporters into two styling streams -

The "commercial" line (panel vans, load carriers etc etc) that was moving towards Crafter styling, and

The "passenger" line (Multivan, Carvelle, Sportline etc) that was moving towards Golf V1, Scirroco styling.

I guess we will find out for sure in time. VWA don't seem to like releasing much info at all about their future plans - it wasn't so long ago that I was officially told that "we have no plans to import the Pirelli Golf to Australia", and we have recently seen how accurate that statement was

It would be a good idea and have the rail system as a package on the top of the line People Mover.

Latest gossip from (possibly) a UK VW dealer (from the Brickyard forum) :

T5 full facelift later this year.

New common rail 4 cylinder engine range.

Production of the current model will stop in June this year with production of the newer version beginning in October.

DSG is supposed to be introduced as the auto option.

Pickup and Caravelle LWB also due to be launched this year.

                        4cyl diesel is interesting
Does that mean 2.5 TDI will only remain in Crafter and be obsolete after current gen stops production?????

EDIT when they say Caravelle LWB they actually mean Multivan

I had an idea the 2.5 TDI in the Crafter was based on the old one in the T4 ie not the same timing gear engine as in current T5s and Touaregs.

On the VWA website for Crafter it says "Cam belt change of up to a maximum of 200,000km or 48 months", which would indicate it is a different engine.

I often wondered why the Crafter engine's 80kw, 100kW & 120kw 2.5L 5 cyls versions are all common rail tdi's. Interesting that the high output engine is down 8kw and 50Nm on the high end T5.

                              Some snippets from T5 Board......

                              English and German

                              Hello,

from my "inside source" I heard the following:

Peak Diesel motorizing a 2.0 CR TDI 4-cylinder with 190 hp

First there is the combination of all-wheel and automatic (DSG)

The cockpit and the front will be redesigned, and the CAN-bus system is the current standard car market, including the option to touchscreen Navi (see golf VI)
                              Hallo,

hehe curious as I have heard something similar getsren
                              - 3x diesel 100PS 140PS and 180PS
                              - + DSG all-wheel possible
                              - Car + Traposchiene seemed (visually) as the separation T4
                              - Front is the current face (ählich Schirosto) adapted
                              - Can new bus system
                              - neues Can Bus system

                              mal schauen was wirklich rauskommt

                              look what's really rauskommt
Thus, => Product training VW (not special Nuzi) with a view to T5 Model Year 2010:
                              optical changes => no information
to motors => subject to change every 2.0 CR motors to 170 hp (probably in the top PS double charged areas, such as the TDI, but only conjecture ne)
for Electrical => will be completely taken over by the new Polo
Nights "official" training Nutzi Ascension, then more (hopefully)

Very good! Well, is probably correct, so there's probably so little info, because you have not even been finished. But after the plant closing will be converted, which is safe ....
