Buying an old 2005 Multivan in the 3.2 V6 Auto. VIN WV2ZZZ7HZ6H009501
307,000k's. Reasonably comprehensive history with recorded regular servicing/oil changes
First drive all went well. Then started it up and a brief hiccup/miss from the engine on start up and the Check Engine Lamp illuminated. Didn't extinguish in subsequent starts.
Plugged in OBD scanner, error codes as follows
1. P2187 (0x2187)
System too lean at idle, bank 1.
2. P0014 (0x0014)
Camshaft position (CMP) actuator, exhaust/right/rear, bank 1 - timing over advanced/system performance.
All other control units, etc. no faults found. Not too bad for an old girl.
Does this error code suggest possibly a disaster waiting in the wings?
Current owner has driven the car like this ( with this intermittent fault ) for past 2 years and 30,000k's.
Auto transmission generally performs well, from a downhill coast to an uphill throttle application sometimes there's a monor clunk. All shifts are smooth, once or twice during a workout around town when changing to 4th gear it didn't immediately lock up. Perhaps a fluid and filter change required. No DTC faults recorded in TCU.
Couldn't find a definitive transmission fluid or transmission manufacturer/type anywhere.
Is it an Aisin Warner 6 speed with the "sealed for life" which isn't?
It's an old bus which I'd like to save if it's practical and do a longish (3,000k) trip in a couple of months.
Don't mind spending a few $ where necessary to keep things working.
There's other minor ag related issues which I can deal with.
Look forward to advice. Thanks
