  • false low oil warning

Hi all, I'm getting a check oil warning despite there being plenty of oil on the dipstick. Could this leak be the culprit, and can anyone help me with the part number? See the small black tube with 90 degree bend? Thanks! Hmmm will try to attach photos in a replyClick image for larger version

Your oil level sensor will be on the bottom of the engine (in the sump). The part you have pictured is a sensor - im not sure exactly what it is because im not familiar with Transporter engines, but it looks like a DPF pressure sensor perhaps.

Thanks for reply, took a better photo and 03L 906 051A is the part number of the sensor. Appears to be turbo pressure sensor. Talking to a parts person hope they can help identify and it's just the pipe to replace.

So still leaves me with a random check oil level warning on start up, despite oil level being at full

Yep pan sensor, not hooked up on my cheaper spec crewman, there to plug a hole. They are notorious for playing up apparently, but I wouldn't know cause no wire to mine. I'd suggest a new sender unit. The pics you posted look more pressure sensor to me, I have that kind of thing hooked up pre and post DPF for pressure difference ( and thus soot load ).
