Has anyone spoken to a dealer about a T6.1 purchase?

I was speaking to a VW salesman on Friday and asked if I needed to place a factory order this month for a new Transporter what wait would I expect. His answer surprised me in that a T6.1 delivery, while still not completely set in stone is being predicted as August 2020. Dealer info should be arriving very soon.

Has anyone had a similar conversation and what feedback was received?

My dilemna is Trafic auto stock is due in before end of the year and Transit Custom Crew is dribbling into dealers now.

Historically VW has started a new model (or MY update) run after the Euro summer plant closure but a local delivery so far back doesn't seem the norm this time.

If I could not wait for 6.1, I'd be looking at the new Hi-Ace, purely on the basis of it being the newest model of the class.

My non-negotiables are rear wing/barn doors (forklift loading) and rhs sliding door, Hiace fails on having a rear tailgate only.

Thanks Sunny however it has to be a 5 seater. I forgot to put "crew" after Trafic in my first post....
by the time I add an aftermarket 2nd row, glass in the doors, a rear sealed bulkhead behind 2nd row, it makes a Caravelle look like a bargain except you cannot get rear wing doors, or seal off the rear....and frankly I'm not really interested in a T6 hence my enquiring about the T6.1 and shock at such a long wait time. I think UK deliveries start in March 2020.

It must cost more to design a good looking vehicle over an ugly one. I just read some reviews of the MPV Granvia, Hiaces version of Multivan over Transporter and while the interior is ok, the external looks are just so hard to digest...while in Europe they sell the Proace based on the Citroen/Puegot vans.
