  • Transporter/Multi. What should i get? What did you pay

Hi, Looking for a Transporter/Multi, best deal available. Would also consider a Multi/Caravelle and take the seats out.

Options are secondhand to $25k or new and Balloon payment 50% so $50k or better new.

I did see VW white SWB DSG 350 TDI for $40.5K drive away as part of a promo.

    Has to be auto.

The Extra seat could be beneficial for taking/picking kids up from school.

    Thanks.

I just bought an older Transporter but was considering newer.

Look on car sales, there were a couple in Sydney that were well priced.

    A couple of 2017 models at $30k with 10,000kms
And a couple of 2015 models at $22k with 50kms

Both are great deals. I went older and cheaper in the end but only because I found a bargain

The Crew van ticked most boxes for me & as i'm not 100% sold on the DSG thought best to get a decent warranty... Not a lot (none when I was looking) of crewvans on the used market, ended up with a 2018 model with 250 k's on the clock with metallic paint & reverse camera for $44500. Really happy with it & coming to terms with the gearbox as well... I took out the back seat when I first got it home, but have put it back in on 2 occasions in the past few months for additional passengers - great to have that option & it takes 3 minutes to put in/take out & no tools required.

I was in your position earlier this year, looking at Transporters and Multivans. I was looking for a used van, less than 6 years old. I found Multivans were the cheaper option (for comparable drivetrain), the commercial vehicles tended to have a higher resale value (higher used price).

The practicality of the seating options in the Multivan is great. They also come with more features and better comforts (soundproofing, carpeting, 10 speakers etc), which, depending on what the purpose is, can make life spent in it more pleasant.

I’m writing this in the back of my Multi: all rear seats removed, raised bed in the back with storage below for camping, mountain bike etc. travelling from Melbourne to Darwin and back via Cairns...

I don't see any variants of the TDI coming out with with 112kW. As far as I can gather, we get a 75kW, a 103kW, a 132kW & a 150kW to choose from with the current 2.0 TDI.

I have previously got a $9k discount with Corporate pricing on a new Gti (NSW Gov Employee).

Anyone got any good pricing on a Transporter?
