Details of the dash. Please feel free to post any useful info about the current T6 and upcoming upgrades, however I’ll without question delete any snarky remarks or lock this thread.

Very nice dash layout USB and Phone charging dock , what I did note is it took ages to program the GPS or assist mode just for a trailer . Time is tight these days and I would get bored trying to set up that part , keep it simple and it sells is my idea .

Cannot question fit, finish and build quality. I just hope VW open the options list, like Crewvan/engine options etc. It still irks me that a Caravelle is cheaper than an optioned Transporter. VW need to reassess what specs they will make standard and what options they will make available. A recent Carsales Van comparison Access Denied I think sums up the vans quite nicely, and highlights what T6.1 needs to improve on as I own 2 of the vans tested and had a T5 for 11 years.

Yeah, but they include the Transit in a 40K round up when it is clearly way over.
You're lucky to find a transporter around that mark too.

We live in Ford and Toyota country, so any reviews are always going to be biased. Just watch any review of new Hiace, the reviewers are virtually melting away how good the van is. Forgetting how bad for an environment the 4.0L V6 petrol engine must be. They also loved the old Hiace and any Hyundai model was always winner when the Carsguide run comparison to VW or it was very close tie, influenced by price and who knows what else.

I choose what drives better and I feel better in while driving it. Could never buy Ford van, anything they produced till today is still not well put together, just look around in the engine bay and even from the driver’s seat it does nothing for me.

Makes you wonder why reviewers would like the Hi Ace , mongrel things will lift a rear wheel going around corners like a dog taking a leak . Most of those box ones remind me of an early HiAce I onced owned , nothing but a single sheet of steel between you and an oncoming car in a collision a real leg crusher .

I reckon they reviewed high at the time just through confirmation bias of seeing so many of them. Telstra and most other utilities always used the hiace for years, I only started seeing VW fleet after Optus switched over a few years back.

I hated every minute of my old bosses hiace. Worst work vehicle ever built. Sure the engines kept going but that was the only good point.

As an owner of some of those tested I thought I would agree with you Transporter....but wait...hang on...it wasn't the Transit Custom that needed a replacement transmission, a replacement camshaft, several O2 sensors, new turbo, new DPF, second transmission failure.....

...I’m happy for you, but I still prefer to drive what drives better and I feel better in while driving it. I certainly didn’t experience any failures in mine like you did and was never left stranded and that’s all what counts.

I've spent plenty of time driving both VW & Ford. In my opinion the latest Transit has a lot of handy features over the Transporter, especially for securing heavy goods in the back. It also fits it's mission brief very well. The HiAce is in dire need of an update.
